We read every path

Before a story goes onto the shelf, we follow every choice and read every ending. We look for clear language, age-appropriate themes, anything needlessly frightening, choices that don’t make sense and endings that feel unfinished.

The age bands are a friendly guide to reading level, story complexity and presentation. Children develop at different speeds, and nobody knows a reader better than the adults around them.

AI helps us write—it never talks to readers

We use AI while brainstorming and drafting, much like another writing tool. Our family decides what stays, rewrites what doesn’t work and checks the finished story. There is no live AI chat, public chat or automatic story generator for children.

Nothing to sign up for

A child can choose a story and start reading. There are no reader accounts, adverts, subscriptions or social features, and children cannot message anyone through the site.

Built for real-life reading

The choices are ordinary web links, so the stories still work when JavaScript is unavailable. There is also a plain reading mode for basic browsers and e-readers, including Kindle devices.
